The Story Behind Six Months to Live

Six Months to Live is a first of its kind. You may find the story behind the writing of this book interesting.

23 years ago I learned how to stop causing arthritis and other diseases. Within two months from the date that I removed the cause, my pain was gone. Over the next two decades I struggled to teach anyone who would listen what I learned about health.

I worked at many jobs to make a living while teaching anyone who would listen. The biggest problem I had was getting people to believe that they could really change what they eat and their body could heal itself.

Well I had been praying for years about how to reach into the homes of people all over the world and tell them the message that they don't have to be sick.

My mother was in a nursing home. I could have helped her but I did not have the facilities or the money to do more than visit her. I desperately wanted to share the message with her and the world, in a way that gain her interest in learning more.

I had been watching TV programs like Survivor, and Lost. I have watched movies like Swiss Family Robinson, and countless others where someone gets stranded on a deserted island or dumped into difficult circumstances with nothing.

My mother watched Six Days and Seven Nights over and over in the nursing home. I wondered why there were no fiction books that taught the truth about health?

One night in March of 2004 I woke up with a story in my head. I could not set aside. I had to start writing. A few days later I was fired from my job. I had missed some tiny scratches about the size of this ( , ) comma.

Any way I went home and kept writing until I had the entire story down. Then I went to work trying to clean it up while I contacted a publisher.

While looking for a publisher I sent the rough draft to some people I new on the net, and some friends here in Michigan.

I mentioned the publisher in the book, so I thought that they would be the obvious choice.

I contacted them. I was given a person named Linda to talk to and she agreed to read the book.

That was the beginning of an exciting summer.

Linda read the book and loved it. She got in my corner and was instrumental in getting the publisher to take on my book. We spent the next 6 months emailing and phoning back and forth through the editing process. Then with the cover and layout it started all over again.

In the middle of the process I got word from a woman who read the rough draft. She became very interested in what I had to say on health since she had been bed redden because of severe rheumatoid arthritis.

Shortly after we began the editing process she notified me that she was up and getting active and her pain had been reduced 70%

Before we started the cover design process she contacted me again to tell me that I had saved her life. Her pain was all gone and both her and her husband were healthy and thankful for my ministry.

You can immagine that that was a real boost to me. It was what kept me going when it looked like it wouldnever end.

The end result is that a year after I had the idea dumped into my head, my book was in print.

If you would have asked me even a month before I started writing Six Months to Live, if I would consider writing a fiction book, I would have laughed in your face. I took basic English in high school. I took the minimum English classes in the college I went to. Creative writing was not something that I thought I would be good at. I never considered myself a story teller.

I had written many articles about health. But the thought of writing a fiction story never crossed my mind. I was an avid reader of good Christian novels. They had an influence on my writing style.

Since Six Months to Live came out I have written two more books, and am working on more in my spare time when I have a creative moment.

God in His infinite wisdom can work through the most unlikely people.

I hope this encourages someone to write a really good story. If I can do it, you can.
