Ask anybody who's anybody in Internet Marketing today what the single most important aspect of running a successful advertising campaign is, and nine times out of ten you will get the same response...Tracking your ads! Being involved in Internet Marketing for the past several years, I have learned that trying to advertise on the internet without incorporating tracking in your advertising campaign is really rather pointless. Sure, being able to write good copy is important, but without some means of tracking your ads you're just shooting in the dark. Tracking may not have much of an effect on the number of sales you make, but it will have a huge effect on your bottom line. Having your ad pull in ten sales at a cost of $50.00 is so much better than spending $50.00 and having no sales at all, don't you agree? There actually can be that much of a difference, or more, depending on where you decide to run your ad. If you had some means of tracking where the sales were coming from, you could take the money that you are throwing at the losing proposition and put it into the one that's actually producing sales. When it comes to advertising, the old saying "a penny saved is a penny earned" has never been more true. Throwing piles of money at worthless forms of advertising is definitely not a good business practice. You could have one of the best products to hit the market in years and be truly gifted when it comes to writing great ad copy, but without some means of controlling your advertising costs and maximizing your profits, you are doing yourself and your business a serious injustice. I have noticed lately that some affiliate programs are providing tracking services for their affiliates, but they are few and far between and they have their limitations. When it comes to my own business, I don't leave anything to chance. I have been using a tracking service for several years now, and when I look back to when I started out marketing on the internet, I sometimes wonder how I survived without it. It does everything I need it to do and then some. Basically, there are two types of tracking resources. One is remotely hosted whereby you pay a monthly fee to use the service and the other is a script you can purchase and install on your own server. If you are considering using tracking with your own advertising campaign, I have compiled a list of what I consider to be the best tracking resources along with a brief description of each on my web site at http://www.freeassociateprograms.com/tracking_resources.html for you to choose from.
