Players Out

Huddersfield Town have established themselves as one of the top sides in League One but failed to win promotion to the Championship after losing in the play off semi finals against local rivals Barnsley.

If it's more fire power that is required, to assist strikers Andy Booth and Gary Taylor-Fletcher who plundered 15 goals apiece last season, manager Peter Jackson will certainly have that in Luke Beckett. The prolific lower division forward was signed on a free transfer from Sheffield United, having scored six goals in seven games for the Terriers during a loan spell in 2005 before spending the entire last season on loan at Oldham Athletic.

Jackson will also be keeping hold for forgotten man Pawel Abbott, who rejected a move to MK Dons in a possible swap deal involving defender Dean Lewington. Abbott has scored 46 goals in 106 appearances for Huddersfield, including 11 goals in the first 16 matches of last season, but dramatically fell out of favour and started just one game in the last three months of the last campaign.

Goalkeeper Matt Glennon has joined the club on a free transfer from St. Johnstone. The former Carlisle United goalkeeper made 12 appearances for the Saints after joining them from Falkirk in January and even scored a goal against Ross County in March. Glennon caught the eye of boss Jackson when he had three excellent games against the Terriers during his spell at Carlisle.

One keeper heading out of the club is Phil Senior, who joined Conference side Northwich Victoria, while striker Junior Mendes joined League Two outfit Notts County on a free transfer.

Verdict
One of the better sides in the division, Huddersfield will be pushing hard for an automatic promotion slot but may have to make do with the play offs again. Expect them to be a free scoring side next season.
