The closing of the year 2005, people wish for many things, some have made promises to try to accomplish many goals. One must ask oneself, what will I be doing when Jesus returns? Is doing the will of the Lord my will? Will Jesus be on my mind or will I be encountering some other thought process, and will that thought be in tune with Gods will, as I bring in the New Year? Here are some of the things I will like to be doing at the years end and when Jesus returns. In your Bible look at Luke 12:35 it says Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, like men waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the second or third watch of the night. Now look at 1Thessalonians 5:12 it says Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else. Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is Gods will for you in Christ Jesus Will you be meditating on the word of God during this end of the year 2005. Look at what it says in Joshua 1:8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth: meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Now look at Psalms 19:14 it says May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. Look at Psalms 104:34 it says May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the Lord. But may sinners vanish from the earth and the wicked be no more. Praise the Lord, O my soul, Praise the Lord. Now look at Psalms 119:15 it says I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways. I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word. Look at Psalms 119:97 it says Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long. Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me. Now look at Psalms 145:5 it says They will speak of the glorious splendor of you majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works. They will tell of the power of your awesome works, and I will proclaim your great deeds. When Jesus returns what a New it will be. Look at 2Corinthians 5:16 it says So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of views. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting mens sins against them. Look at Ephesians 4:21 it says Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self; created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. What a blessing to obey Gods will. Look at Psalm 119:1 it says Blessed are they whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord, Blessed are they who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart. They do nothing wrong; they walk in his ways. You have laid down precepts that are to be fully obeyed. Look at John 17:6 it says I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. For I gave the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty you sent me. I pray for them. I am not praying for the world; but for those you have given me, for they are yours. Now look at Romans 6:17 it says But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness. What a gift to be courageous in the Lord. Look at Deuteronomy 3:6 it says Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Now look at 1Corinthians 16:13 it says Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love. Looking towards the victory is my goal for the year of 2006. And I hope its yours too. Look at 1Corinthians 15: 57 it says But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. Now look at 1 John 5:2 it says This is how we know that we love the children of God; by loving God and carrying out his commands. This is love for God; to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the Word. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. In closing look at Psalms 60:12 it says With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies. Look at Psalms 45: 4 it says In your majesty ride forth victoriously in behalf of truth, humility and righteousness; let your right hand display awesome deeds. Love Always,
