Why You Must Become An Effective Risk Taker To Bust Your Bad Habits: Control Your Fear

Do you agree that bad habits control you because you are scared to take risks? You are scared that you will fail. And who wants to be a failure?

Let me tell you.....

Heights scared the living daylight out of me. Therefore, conquering my fear for heights became an obsession. Because it paralyzed me. I decided to jump from bridge over, 365 feet, to the Zambezi River. Yes - with a rope around my ankles.

I must confess, I paid $100 to take the jump and I did not jump..

I was "pushed" by the people operating the eXtreme sport Bungy Jump.

As I fell I yelled, but the mighty Zambezi roared closer, the waiting crocodiles grew larger, and the head splitting rock became my target. If only I could hit it, head first and die quickly.

I did not die.

No, the roped pulled me back. In a few seconds, I became a proud and confident being. Thoughts flashed through my mind, "Who can stop me doing what I want to do?" And the word courage now meant something to me.

Have you watched "Fear Factor" - even if you don't enjoy it?

"Fear Factor" is one of my "favorite" TV shows. It highlights the courage of the participants to engage in the most fearsome and revolting acts.

Most of the contestants are willing to give up their self-esteem for the sake of the prize money. So what does that imply? It implies that with the proper attitude, grit, and desire (goal), you can conquer any fear.

Everyone has some sort of fear. It may be brought about by any one or more of the following reasons.

1) by a shocking past incident (like being bitten by a dog, or a car accident)

2) by the influence of other people - remember the words your mother used, "Go and fetch the camera, but do not fall"

3) by their own negative way of thinking - "I will never stop biting my nails, I tried and failed many times."

But are you going to let fear take over your life? Will you remain a hostage of your fear forever?

You must take the necessary steps to overcome your fright. It's all in the mind. And it's one of the habit busting building blocks.

Do you resent other people when you see them enjoying exiting and adventures fun?,And you're just stuck in the closet because you're too terrified to give it a try?

My suggestion is - just - face it - head-on. Imagine yourself enjoying the experience instead of exaggerating the things that make you worry. (Stop: If you will die doing it then rather see the doctor before you try!).

Do you want to be a dentist but you're afraid that your intellect can't handle the stress or you're worried about financial uncertainty?

Well here's the good news. If you're really single-minded to achieve your deepest desires, a powerful force will enable you to reach them amidst every barrier that comes in the way. I'm not joking.

Someone or something will always be there to help you attain your goals. Just have faith in your abilities. Your willpower have the utmost capacity to accomplish anything with the proper state of mind.

You could use visualization to help you in defeating any kind of fear.

Are you afraid of heights? Then imagine yourself being on top of a mountain, overseeing the magnificent sights. Enjoy and feel the moment. Take away all worries and anxieties.

Then just do it! Face it head on! Go to the top of a building and savor the great feeling of being able to face your fear.

This applies to whatever thing that triggers your fear factor. Just imagine being able to defeat it, then confront it with the definite belief that you have the capacity to do everything you want if you just put your mind to it.

Face the thing you fear the most and you'll never have to fear anything again in your life. You'll never fear failure because you'll have the courage to face and attack anything - even your bad habit.

Becoming who you want to be - with no bad habit - involves risk taking. But to prepare yourself, you must make a list of all fears. Start today. List them and confront them. This will give you the courage and the confidence to bust your bad habit.

But what about failure and punishment?

1) Failure doesn't exist! There are only better ways to do it. In other words, change your approach to solving the problem. And try again. Have you ever watched the movie Aviator? Watch it and tell me what you think?

2) "But I punish myself", punishment gives your bad habit power over you. And punishment reinforces your negative believes.

I know you are serious and want to become confident and bust your bad habit forever. Can you spare 15 minutes a day to bust your bad habit? Follow the guidance of a leader.
